This weekend, I baked a batch of old-fashioned goodness… Snickerdoodles. I made half the batch with the customary cinnamon and sugar coating and half with just sugar. The cookies are always yummy as is, but I also use them as a base for individual fruit pizzas. At the cabin, I can have the toppings including the cream cheese mixture, glaze and cookies ready to go for everyone to make their own desserts. Fruits that work well for toppings included raspberries, blueberries, kiwi, bananas and strawberries. For a quicker version, use spreadable cream cheese. The strawberry flavored version is very good.

Sounds like a cute idea for a group dessert! Not sure what you do with the glaze?

As with all glazes, it goes over the top.

Wonderful! I didn’t think of putting fruit & cream cheese on Snickerdoodles. What a great & refreshing idea.

This weekend I am making them for a July 4th gathering and using blueberries and strawberries on the cookies for a red, white and blue theme.

I have missed the Catching Up blogs. Enjoyed this one a lot. Love the view of the backyard plantings.
